Re: Cheap PC Alert
Hmm...maybe there is a reason I havent used a Soyo then
I have an Asus and an Abit, had some odd issues with a few Asus PIII models back when...and got a FIC now as well. Suprisingly the FIC is the cheapest of the bunch but is a pretty solid performer.
Booth, surely you jest when you say something is more of a PITA then Windows? What fun is an os if its working all the time!
Dell..depends on the day. Their stuff is pretty bulletproof 98.6% of the time, but IMO if you get a bad one, you're better off to just write it off on day 1 and maybe use it to secure that rowboat you've been so worried about it floating away... I sent them my laptop for something like a mouse button and it came back great/fast/etc. I got into reading stuff and later found out they upgraded my system board..uhoh...and did some other joyous things to it . Now I have a laptop that randomly resets (at will, no windows interraction) and charges batteries about 1/2 the time, the other 1/2 it just tells me they are missing or 28% charged...even when bays are empty.
We wont get into the poweredge 2600 w/dual Xeons and virtual processing disabled on the bios...yet the machine still thinks it has 4 processors and i get all sorts of bizarre heap this stack that thread this dll that cache this errors on...I think that one's making a trip to the local yacht club
But like I said...when they DO work, they are worthy of the might honda emblem.
..and thanks for lending the info on the Soyo's doodez. Ill edit the topic appropriately I guess
why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.
