Re: This is gonna leave a mark

That guy had to have been hauling to tip an SUV on its side. I'm thinking triple digits. I wish they would've mentioned whether he had any gear on or not(not like it would've made a difference)

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

You know, even with getting knocked out cold in my last crash, I think I will take that anyday verses my chances on the street. I am thinking the guys that only ride on the street are crazier than us track and racing guys...

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

Old guy turning left. That sucks big time. Motorcyclist SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SPEEDING. It was the old man's fault for not yielding to oncomming bullets (I mean traffic).

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

They didnt specify what type Kawasaki it was. It may have been similar to a Gold Wing, which is a very heavy bike (600Lbs +) ! The rider may have actually been doing the speed limit when the collision happened, causing the SUV to Roll !

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

After zooming in on the photo, it looks like it had an after market pipe (looks carbon fiber ish) It sure looks to be a sportbike though, the bike is upside down (whats left of it anyways) and you can make out the tail section. That bike had to be doing 100+mph, Old guys fault or not its hard to judge oncoming motorcycles at speeds of 100+

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

Looks like a ZX-6R to me.

Assuming for a second that the kid was doing a buck-fifty or whatever (how the HELL did he hit that truck hard enough to tip it over), I'll have you boys know -at least in two jurisdictions I've worked in- it would very much be the biker's fault. It's virtually impossible to ask a motorist to see a small vehicle like a bike moving at half the speed of sound, much less accurately perceive his closing speed if he actually did catch a glimpse before impact.

Based on what I see and read which is admittedly not the entire story, it was the rider's fault.

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

We had a guy steal a 97 gsxr 600 here (first vehicle theft in YEARS) and do over 100 down a 25 mph street and t-boned a new dodge ram. guy died obvisously but didnt roll the truck and made it more than half way through the cab.

Re: This is gonna leave a mark

Yeah, that's about 25 miles away from where I live. *Heard about it, but didn't think alot about it. *One detail though, the rider went through the passenger window, and would have went all the way through if he hadn't struck the SUV driver, which deflected him partially through the windshield.

Fayetteville is home to bunches and bunches of stunters and street-roadracers, often seen dragging knees in town. *

...in my pants
