What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

I just noticed today that a few places have reached over the $2.00 per gal. mark. Actually, $2.06 for prem.

These freaking prices just make my sick, mostly because I think its all a scam.

I am definately looking to use my mtbike for more of my summer entertainment this year.

And just think, its not even Memorial Day yet.

Re: What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

In SoCal regular in my area is about $2.25, and I've seen premium as high as $2.65

Check out www.gasbuddy.com for the lowest and highest prices in your area.

Holy Crap!
Am I the only one who thinks the government isnt doing enough to help the situation?

Although, I was listening to the radio the other day and I heard that the governor of Alaska was saying that Alaska could help to ease the "shortage".

You have to wonder if Bush is letting this happen to get deeper into Alaska's reserves.

Re: What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

paid $2.08 this am about 10 miles outside of Boston, most I've paid thus far in my history of existence. That was for the 87 swill, the 93 was ~$2.29.

On the way home it was $2.11 for the 87 @ the same place...wtf! My dreams of a new Titan next fall are dwindling fast...

Re: What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

I know the prices are going up but they always do now, maybe just a little more this time. I really do not think it is that bad, adjust for inflation and we would be really seeing some high prices. Most places in the world pay much more than we do here in the USA and their prices on sportbikes are higher, I think I will stay here.

Premium (98 octane) is currently $AU1.01 per litre but that is towards the top of the price fluctuations for the week

Re: What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

I filled both bikes Sunday and paid 93.9 / litre. I think the conversion is 3.7 litres to a US gallon, so that's ~$3.50 Cdn per US gallon. Add in the Cdn to US exchange, and we pay the equivalent of ~$2.70 US /gal.

Re: What Kinda fuel prices are you seeing near you?

1.99 87oct
2.09 89oct
2.19 93oct

What I find funny is that yesterday morning it was 1.74 for 87. How it can jump $.25 in a matter of hours is beyond me. By tomorrow most stations will have it back down in the $1.90's, some in the $1.80's

Read an article yesterday that the Saudi's and other "oil countries" are looking to OPEC for permission to increase output by at least 1.5m barrells per day. A few countries were also shown to have put out more than they were supposed to the last couple months.

True, but in Europe it's all taxes. And they (most euro countries) have better pubic systems because of it also.

I have family in Germany that goes to Brazil for "Spa" treatments twice a year each time for 2 weeks. All part of their freak'n health care system.

Here we just pray that our health care covers our "asprin" without making us pay a co-pay. Oh I forgot, it has to be generic "asprin".

My point is that the Fuel companies here are saying the same thing about Europe, but are forgetting to talk about the How & Why's of those prices.

Although it looks like Europe is really suffering also. They are now paying about $1.45 ltr.

Huge losses to revenue if prices cut

Around " 70 percent of the price of fuel in Germany is made up of taxes " and delivery costs. The tax on fuel amounts to almost 65.5 cents a liter and is not affected by changes in fuel prices. Regardless of the rise in price, the tax will remain set at that rate. " On top of that, there is 16 percent value added tax." If the government were to lower the price of fuel, it would stand to lose ?13 billion in income.
