Re: Help from the graphically inclined...

Im thinking of getting a Tattoo and I have the design in mind, but I dont know how to make it on the PC. Im wanting a Superman symbol in full Color, but instead of an 'S' in the Center, I want a 'P' for Pitts (Last name) IT will be my first and Im not 100% Sure I want to get one, but Im pretty sure. Anyone here want to try their skills on designing something like this?

For those of you who have them, the biggest concern I have besides finding a good artist is what kind of downtime I will have afterward. Reason I ask is that I want it on my right shoulderblade and I wear a bulletproof vest at work. Will I be able to stand it (And will it be ok) to have it covered for 10+ hours?
Thanks,
Chris

Calling Critz, calling Critz.

Don't know how big of a tattoo you have in mind, but with proper bandaging initially I don't think you would have a problem - unless you're a wuss . Unless your pain tolerance is really low, tattoos aren't jack shite, pain-wise.

Re: Help from the graphically inclined...

If you can wait until Sunday, I'll mock one up for you. My hard drive had a head crash, and I haven't installed all my software on the new one yet.
As a side note, getting your data recovered from a completely dead disk is pricey.

Shoulder blade isn't too painful at all ( I have one there about the size of a baseball )

Just make sure you are going to want it 20 years from now. I got a Georgetown bulldog on my thigh when I was 16. It was cool then; now I'm going to have something a little 'tougher' tattooed over it whenever I get around to it.

I agree with you about making sure you will want it forever. I got my first tat when I was 14 (don't ask) and got 4 more by the time I was 21 and now at 25 I don't really want them anymore. But it would be too expensive and painful to have them removed, plus I don't think all the colors would come out.

Rule #1: never get a tattoo anywhere you can't hide from a judge.
Most folks I know got their tattoos in a fairly inconspicuous place. People ask why get a tattoo somewhere no one will see it? Well, Alexandra gives one good reason for this. It's good to be able to cover up when you want to.

And ER, a bulldog is generally considered pretty 'tough.'

I agree with location. I decided to get it on the shoulderblade so I could have it and it is covered most of the time...

Pics please . You're teasing again...

NinerPilot, try one on the bottom of your foot - it is both inconspicuous and one helluva challenge to not jerk your leg while getting it - don't ask me how I know this .

Re: Help from the graphically inclined...

The care afterwards isn't bad. My shoulder when I got it done was a pain in the ass to keep the plastic wrap over because it was an area that moved and stretched quite a bit. The back, I don't think would be that much of a problem if you had help with application at the changing. Here's mine ... it's quite a different version of the maltese cross (firefighter cross) The flames make the outline of the cross. The color isn't completely done and since this was right after the first session, the color has bled out more and will be touched up pretty soon.

No matter how beautiful a woman may be, some man somewhere is sick of her sh!t.

Re: Help from the graphically inclined...

It is pretty difficult to get a 'p' to look like Superman's 's' in there, but here's one I fooled around with to give you an idea at least.
