Re: Radical animal rights activists

An excerpt from an email at work today:
Subject: Hightened Security
Over the weekend I received calls from the SBI regarding radical animal
rights activist. The State Agencies have intelligence with mention of
the Robot since it is such High Profile. John XXXXXX has informed me
that we have reason to be more vigilant in security for the second floor
of the Life Sciences building, due to activities of this radical animal
terrorist groups in the vicinity. He has reason to believe that they
may have already infiltrated the system. In response, do not let anyone
into the building and especially the 2nd floor unless you know them. We
have a lot at risk in these labs.

Re: Radical animal rights activists

Those animal activist types really piss me off. Do they take any medications or have any loved ones who take any medications? Have had any surgery? Well, they have research to thank. They should go to the pound and adopt an animal that needs a home, instead of wasting time protesting research facilities. Don't even get me started...

Re: Radical animal rights activists

I think it was Dennis Miller who said that radical animal rights activists will step over a suffering fellow human being just to spit on someone wearing fur.

I have no patience for these nut cases

Re: Radical animal rights activists

Yeah, it's like the anti-abortion activists who are against killing an unborn fetus, but think nothing of murdering a doctor who performs legal abortions. Where's the sense in that?

We have very strict rules and policies governed by the federal government. You have to go through approval processes very similar to and just as strict as IRB approval for human research. So yes, I am saying at institutions that follow the rules there is NO NEED FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS PROTESTORS.
