Re: Got a card in the mail......

One of those registered sexual predators 'moved to your neighborhood' cards. * Kind of weird getting one. * They have a website to where you can do a search for your zip and they have a list and pics of them. * More in my neighborhood than I thought......

I think that system is good overall. I couldn't imagine being 'branded' like that but they did something unacceptable so they deserve it. On the other hand, I see the downside of the person who is HONESTLY trying to turn his life around might never be given a chance or trusted and even harrassed by the neighborhood.

But I can kind of relate now to the people who you always hear protesting that they don't want this person living in their neighborhood.

It actually should be through your county sheriffs office. That's how it is here.

But you can try this link: Link

Use the link address and input the State where you reside. Each State has their own webpage. Some of those photos are pretty scary, especially when you see how close they live to you.

Re: Got a card in the mail......

yeah I got one of those a while back....kinda creepy. I like knowing who they are....but like alex...I can see how it would suck if they were ACTUALLY trying to become upstanding citizens....but you do the crime, you gotta take everything that goes with it.....

Re: Got a card in the mail......

I am pretty happy they do that. I am not too sure if that is a country wide thing, but if its not, it ought to be. the whole term 'predator' is enough to freak anyone out. I have seen various talk shows on this, and how areas react to this happening. Many seem reformed...but I would hate to find out otherwise.

Team Honda - well sorta...

Re: Got a card in the mail......

I give a #### if they're trying to turn their life around. They should be branded on the forehead and have to paint their house fluorescent orange or something. What those people do is despicable. They have ruined the life of someone else, they deserve much worse than getting on that list.
