Re: Send your well-wishes to 929flyer

To those of you who know Rob (929flyer), he broke his collarbone, a couple of ribs, and may have a scapula fracture and/or possible rotator cuff damage. I drove the goon to the emergency room Saturday (was helping some guys pit for CCS races at MAM). Apparently he got together with a GP bike in practice and hit the deck pretty hard.

Just thought I'd let you guys know. He should heal but his wife may put him back in the hospital once he's healthy enough for a good beating.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Get well soon buddy!

I'm sure your wife isn't happy, but don't let her talk you into giving up riding. We need this way too much to let it go!

Re: Send your well-wishes to 929flyer

Make certain they check his lungs. Many racers do the collarbone/rib two step only to find that the ribs punctured a lung. This doesn't usually show up on the original xrays and if it collapses the symptoms are usually attributed to the broken ribs (breathing is difficult either way). If it goes too long, you can lose the lung.

At any rate, get better soon!

They would have taken him but he didn't want them to. He said it would kill his lower back to be strapped to the stretcher. Nothing was critical so I took him.
