Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

It's easy to register: *Do Not Call LINK

Won't take effect until October but your number will be registered until 2008.

Telemarketers must abide by the registry.

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

Your supposed to receive a reply via email within 72 hours that you must verify. Myself and others still haven't received an email back (since early last week). I'm assuming they are swamped!?!

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

They need to create a donotsendpornorspammail.gov site to go with it...

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

I tried when the site first opened a few weeks ago and didn't get an email response, either (could barely get into the site itself). Did it this morning and the email was almost instantaneous (rather impressed by a government system *)

I'm all set now

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

That's all fine and dandy, but they'll find another way to get to you. More junkmail(paper and electronic) or door to door or who knows. Oh well, I registered anyway....

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

Good link....also, check availability in your state. Here in Indiana, the no call list is already in place and actually has more 'teeth' than the federal list.

Telemarketers can burn in hell for all I care....the only lesser form of life are the idiots that actually purchase things from a blind phone call, thus giving these people a compelling reason to harrass the rest of us.....

I think this list ties in with the state lists (have to check on that, though).

I'd really like to see the close-ratio for telemarketers... I bet its pretty slim.

Funny sidenote: *my grandfather keeps them on the phone and pretends to be lonely, needing someone to talk to (ie: complaining about fake, disgusting medical ailments)

Re: Federal Gov DO NOT CALL List

did you happen to see the companies that DO NOT have to abide by it - companies you already do business with, ie - SEARS (those guys are bastards when you buy something), religious groups, political groups, and a couple other PITA's
