Ok, so I posted before searching. It's worth a second glance if it was already posted.

Bikes and women - both have nice curves.

Re: That boy can drive...

That was actually here in Oklahoma City a couple months ago. The guy was in a stolen Mustang and was in possession of a gun and the typical illegal drugs. The troopers just didnt TVI him hard enough to get it right the first time. It did minimal damage to the troopers car.

Re: That boy can drive...

Was that a particularly slow mustang, or are those police cars really fast? And what's a TVI?

Yeah. The Mustang seemed pretty slow. Although they usually pimp out the cop cars pretty good too.

It's a V6 'Stang.
However, even 4.6 Mustangs in stock trim (my wife has an '03 GT 5-speed) are pretty slow, most running mid 14's in the 1/4 (maybe even slower than the average police cruiser would run).

That (video) was amazing. Guy made a couple of nice saves...and then kept going even after the third-time's-a-charm Pittman (sp?) put him in the Jersey wall for a few hundred yards...and the trip down and across the grass.

Still, I can't cheer for this A-HOLE, regardless of his luck or skill level. Stealing a car and then putting dozens of people at serious risk, causing thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of dollars in property damage...they ought to seriously consider allowing officers to just shoot people who do that crap. No trial, just a 9mm slug in the head.

Re: That boy can drive...

Not sure about the displacement of the car. TVI is tactical vehicle intervention. Its harder to perform at higher speeds because of the potential for the car to keep spinning.

Re: That boy can drive...

And contrary to what most people think police package Crown Vics arent massaged like everyone thinks. The most they do is maybe, maybe put a dual overhead cam motor like the Mustang in it. Most have a simple taxi package with heavy duty components like alternator, cooling, suspension, etc. My car runs ok but isnt gonna hang with a Mustang or Camaro any day. The difference is in the drivers skills and knowledge of the road. Not to mention police radios.
Once the guy got on the highway where the troopers were, it was all but over. They have the hot motors in their cars not to mention a few of the Camaros. We are not allowed to use the TVI manuever so unless they get on the highway its chase them until someone gets stop-sticks under the bad guys car.
