MS Word XP Help please.....

hey guys i did some typesetting work at home and need to print it out on my work laser printer, i tried yesterday but my comp here didnt support the fonts so today i had to save them all to disk and install them here at work. is there a way to save a document and have it bring all the font sets used with it ? i know there are many save options in word but havent played with them, i always use the default .doc extension...
any help is greatly appreciated as always...

Re: MS Word XP Help please.....

I don't think so. You'd have to have all the same fonts on the PC you wanted to print it from. An alternative would be if you have Adobe Acrobat (the full package, not the free viewer) you could save it as a PDF and that would contain all the font information. Also, I think Adobe has a free on-line form to convert a document to PDF. Not sure of its limitations though.

There's free PDF printer drivers available on www.download.com It basically works the same as a printer except it prints the document from word(or anywhere else) into a PDF document.

Yeah, that's the way Acrobat works too. I didn't know someone made a free one though.

While in MS Word go to Tools/ Options/ click on the "Save" tab. Check the "Embed TrueType fonts" option and you should be set, although it will increase the file size (sometimes significantly).

beachguy your the man, i did the PDF thing last night and it worked well but that is so much sweeter, thats what i was looking for, file size is irrelevant, i knew there had to be a way to get it done. now i dont have to laser print one off stuff before sending it to the printer, i can just burn him a disc....
