Re: SUT H2 hits eBay

They're very nice, and if my manhood was a bit smaller I might have to have one! Too bad about the crappy mileage though. How about that seller twice mentioning Hummer possibly slowing production due to the war effort. I'm pretty sure all H2's are made in a separate GM factory.

Im pretty sure the mil. HHMMV's are still built by AM General, I thought GM just took over their 'commercial' division.

Im only ASSuming though, as the gov't has had an SUT since inception

Re: SUT H2 hits eBay

So is the optional piston slap also included in the $70k price, or is that another $15k extra?

Re: SUT H2 hits eBay

Don't those H2s have like a bazillion recall issues?

"It Is built at a brand-new factory in Indiana that's a duplicate of other General Motors plants. In effect, it is a GM plant. GM now owns all marketing rights to the Hummer brand, and contracts with AM General to build the new Hummer H2 using the GM worldwide production system."

I found the above on the net. Yes, the HMMWV (H1) production for commercial consumption might be slowed down to allocate resources for the war movement, but I don't see how H2 production will be affected.

Just to clarify, I was supporting your original statement with mine

AM General still builds the military version I think (they spun off "hummer" to GM I beleive, and thus H2, etc.) and no, I doubt there will be any production reduction due to the war effort. This isn't 1940 and the world is now well stocked with idiots waiting to dump their fortunes on something big enough to finally carry ALL their groceries, and the American manufacturers are poised to be ready!

..though, I heard Hummer sales slumped widely over q1 of 2004, so production may drop for those reasons, I hope
