If I was stupid enough to do something like this.......i would probably kill myself. I don't think I could ever live with a mistake like this.....

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

I was just as disgusted when I saw this myself. There's no reason charges shouldn't be brought up.

This kind of thing is in the news way to much. Either a death or a near miss (due to intervention) happens around here every summer. What happened to common sense?

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

Stupid people. See sheat like this from time to time. You know it's going to end in a train wreck, but until it's serious all you can do is hope to be there to intervene when you need to be.

My sentiments exactly. She should die the same way those kids did.

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

2 summers ago in the Minneapolis area a guy mistakenly left his baby girl in the minivan when he went to work and she died. He'd dropped his son off at one day care and as she was sleeping in her car seat in the back he forgot to drop the girl off at a different day care....I don't believe charges were pressed. All I know is that if these cases are TRUELY mistakes that it would be hard to live with yourself after that.

I liked even more how she tried to pass some of the blame on her husband. She should fry for that one!

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

That is just wrong. That's exactly why people should have to get a license if they want a kid. I'm with Pete

I wonder if her lawyers are gonna try to sue GM for not manufacturing the vehicle with proper 24/7 ventilation

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

While we are on the topic of child abuse....can someone explain something to me?

Why is it okay to hold a defenseless kid hostage in the backseat of a closed car while the dumbass parents smoke with the windows down?

Also, when did it become okay to feed a child in your care a toxic diet consisting mainly of fat and sugar, to the point that the kid becomes morbidly obese and has no chance at ever learning the patterns to live a healthy lifestyle?

Is this not abusive parenting?

Why are these behaviours ignored, but people come out of the woodwork like crazy if you were to pop a kid on the butt for acting up?

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

I'm with ya 100% Bake. It's freakin' ridiculous! It's ok to basically murder your kid with all that crap, but you can't set him/her straight so that he/she can better our society when he/she grows up

Re: are people really that pre-occupied

My God, how can you forget where or what you did with your kid? I just can't understand how somebody forgets about THEIR CHILD! If somebody can remember to get their purse out of their car before they go into a store, why in the hell can't they remember that they have a kid in the seat behind them? People like that should be tortured and killed, or like somebody posted earlier, subject to the same death that their child went through.

They were foster kids, meaning she was examined for her parenting. It's actually pretty thorough. Apparently it is pointless though.

That's disgusting to read. I say drop her in the desert, locked in a car is too easy.

Baketech, I agree fully. You can't even concentrate when you are all doped up on supersized Cokes and happy meals. I had a dietician tell me that a 'Lunchable' is a small step above rat poison on the food scale. How often do you see kids eating those...
