Re: BMW M5

BMW will eventually outdo themselves when they put a human transporter into their next generation of i-drive.

Love the car, love the numbers, hate the increase in technology not being optional.

Re: BMW M5

I could get hunted down for this I know but, is it just me or does the rear eminate a WRX likeness? (view from the 6 o'clock position)

I'm with ya on that. It'd be cool if they made an S2000-ish version. Meaning nothing more than 3 pedals an ignition button and a basic radio. Then again, it is meant to be a family car, innit?

Re: BMW M5

Interesting car. I'd love to take it for a spin.

The increased technology means decreased chance to do much to the car except oil/filter and air changes on your own

SSG, what I saw is Passat. Now why'd they have to go and do that???

Official Racer Dude Guy, according to a neighborhood 6 year old.

I guess I can empathize, since that's the way I feel about Fords.

Re: BMW M5

Bloke I know here in town has the old model, maybe 18 months old. V8 motor. He tells me it puts out something like 400+hp and some ridiculous amount of torque. He's also got a '92 911 Carrera Lightweight (360bhp and weighs less than a ton) and tells me that the grunt from the BMW means that it would walk away from his Porsche. Bit surprised as power/weight figures don't stack up but that is what he says. 100mph, third gear, dry road, nail it and it spins the back wheels.

The new one must be a monster.
