Anyone bought/shipped a car across the country?

I'm seriously thinking about buying a car in VA, and would like to hear experiences etc with buying out of state.

If anyone has an idea of the cost or who to ship with that would also help.

Re: Anyone bought/shipped a car across the country?

Couple years ago I sold a 1963 ford econoline van to a guy in NY. I think he said he paid $450 for shipping. A guy with a car carrier came and picked it up. Bout all I can offer.

I have always heard that cars from dry climates like AZ, NV and Cali are better to get as they rusted less. Unless you are buying a newer car?

Had my S10 shipped from NH-> AZ last year cost like 9 beans and I have to say DONT EVER SHIP A NICE CAR!!!!!!!!!!! Bastards broke my windsheild, bottomed out my frame loading it, scraped the exhaust also while loading it, and they are not responsible for anything. When I move back out there I'll tow it myself or send it in an enclosed trailer for "Show car transportation"
