Re: would you go back in?

I've seen the chlorine reading go from about a 5.5-6.0 to a 2.0 in a matter of 2hrs in 220,000 gallons of water. In other words, that's a whole lot of chlorine to be neutralized in that much water in that little amount of time.

I betcha there's someone doing that exact same thing every time you're in a public pool....

Definately... next vacation go to the pool and watch the people who are drinking while floating around. How often do you see them get out and go do their business

Yeah thats what I thought

Re: would you go back in?

The free chlorine instantly reacts to the amonia and nitrates in urine and nuetralizes it but forms a chloramine (used not quite as reactive chlorine). I am not saying that I would grab a glass and drink my own poolwater... (natural disaster aside). But who hasn't accidentally swallowed some water while swimming?

The fact that I have new barely used water in my pool, Good chlorine content, heavy salt content, and a good ph, makes swimming so much nicer.

No chlorine smell or burning eyes in my pool. I bet my lil kido (1yr) was the first to tinkle in the pool.

Re: would you go back in?

It's nasty to think about drinking water someone else has pissed in.

But in survival training they tell you to drink your urine if you don't have water even without the chlorine or massive dilution.

Just the same, I hate swimming in public pools.
