Re: VIOXX RECALL

Man, my Dad isn't going to like that.

I'm impressed by Merck's actions on this one.

From the article: The news should benefit rival Pfizer, which produces the market-leading Celebrex arthritis drug and its successor named Bextra.

Since I'd guess the drugs work through similar mechanisms, I wonder if this is wrong, and they just haven't studied Celebrex/Bextra enough to discover the HA risk factor?

Agreed....

FWIW, I think this is the tip of the iceberg....from what I have been reading, there is going to be a pharma "bubble" similar in size and scope as Enron et al.....

Re: VIOXX RECALL

Hmmm, at least I've only been taking it for about 16 months, I should be safe from strokes and grabbers . Too bad too, the stuff works(ed) wonders on my shoulder.

Better life through chemistry, just not as long

I'm not even supposed to be here. I'm just "Crewman Number Six." I'm expendable! I'm the guy in the episode who dies to prove how serious the situation is! I've gotta get outta here!

They are all COX II inhibitors... and no Bextra and Celebrex have NOT had the same vigorous study that Vioxx has had...

And that was the BEST drug for a hangover...
