Internet Explorer Help!

I recently upgraded to XP service pack2. Things have been working fine. Now withing the last couple of days, when I click on a link that would open up a new window, like on this website, nothing happens. No warning about pop-ups or anything. I tried shutting the pop-up software built into IE off and that did not help. Anyone have any ideas? This is quite annoying!

Re: Internet Explorer Help!

Sounds like the pop-up blocker is working anyway. Try adding fireblades.org to to the "allowed sites" list, just to see.

Re: Internet Explorer Help!

Wait. You just mean when you click an external link, like this:

http://www.yahoo.com/

It should open that in a new window. But that's not a pop-up. So that link above doesn't work for you?

IE doesn't have tabs, yet. (Unless he had some add-on installed from before the upgrade maybe. )

Re: Internet Explorer Help!

Try this

A user at work had the exact same problem with the new window being blank, and the tech fixed it with the info in the link. Affected system was running Win2K and IE 5.5.

I would try reloading the software.

Re: Internet Explorer Help!

I tried searching for spyware and that didn't help... Fiddled with the setting all to no avail. The window kind of flashes once when you click on a link but then nothing... no error or anything. weird. and annoying.
