Since I stand on the side of a track, I see all kinds of crap flying around. I have a really nice sized pulley that landed next to me one night. There are always bits and pieces of u-joints as well, lug nuts, etc.. laying around. During a Figure 8 race this saturday, I spotted a large chunk of someones exhaust coming at me. Not only was it large and metal, it was damn hot too. That's the other danger, most of the pieces flying about are warm to the touch..

Anyone who thinks that they are under safe conditions anytime they ride are fooling themselves.
