A/V Furniture

After moving into the new house, trying to get things straight so we can start "living" there.

Looking for a TV stand that 1, won't break the bank, 2) is sturdy and not a piece of crap that I'll throw away in 1 year, 3) will hold a 44" 16X9 DLP, and 4) has a shelf for my large center channel and room for a DVD player, a CD player, a large receiver and a cable box.

I really like the salamander triple 20, but gees! Its $849 and thats with no doors, no sides and no drawer!!!! There has to be something out there as nice as it but not as spendy!

Anyone know of other brands I can try? Preferably something with a good reputation and that I can see online... I don't have to buy it online, just be able to see it...

HELP!

If the second one came in black, that would probably work...

Re: A/V Furniture

I don't know much about what is available int he US, but try having a look at "not AV" furniture. Furniture that may do the job, but not laballed AV.. Otherwise,

Re: A/V Furniture

Zeeman's got a great suggestion. It's helped me many times before. Look "outside the box" and you may be surprised. You might have to take a little time searching, but it's well worth it, not only with the wallet, but functionality and originality (nobody else has one).

Otherwise, I agree...do it yourself.

Re: A/V Furniture

I picked up something from IKEA for my 46". Has worked well (absolutely no sagging and looks new) and was well priced.

Re: A/V Furniture

A friend of mine has this one for his 50" DLP. It says up to 36", but check the dimensions to see if it will hold yours.
