Chainiac checking in

OK... I miss you guys.

I figure I can continue with my Fireblades participation, I just need to keep it to maybe a post or two a day from the office, ten or fifteen minutes tops. All things in moderation, right??? Especially considering my obsessive personality.

Things have calmed down here, and none too soon. I needed to slow down, get my thoughts in order, and relax a little after what turned into a weeks-long (and painful) process of personal inventory.

My ex who I wanted to make my 'current' again, well, she's willing to allow an arm's distance friendship flourish between the two of us, but she's scared I'll hurt her again and is a bit distant because of it. I blame her not. Tell you what, even if we never get back together, it feels good having cleared the air and taken responsibility for my part in the breakdown of the relationship. So I can hold my head high knowing I did what I could to, at a minimum, regain some of her respect and be a friend to she and her son.

I put the 'busa away for the winter last Thursday, doing a full oil/filter change (with Shell Rotella T syn diesel truck oil - hooah!), Zymol waxing of the entire bike, conditioning the fuel in the tank, plugging in a Battery Tender Jr., and putting it on stands and under cover. It'll get started again on or about April 1st.

I see one of the board gumshoes ferreted out my eBay ads. Yeah, I added a set of slip-ons, you caught me, but I didn't leave 'em on for long. I fancy the Bus as something of a "Gentleman's Express" (not unlike the Honda XX) and since my main emphasis is on touring I just didn't appreciate the added noise. Chainiac with stock pipes?! What's the world coming to???

Oh, I'm back in the weight room again. This has always been a source of enjoyment for me, not only physically but emotionally as well. Through the summer heat, lack of a real appetite, jogging instead of weight training, and the stress of the split with my woman, I found myself at ~207 pounds as little as six weeks ago. I think that's too scrawny for a guy my height, 6'3" (MHOO, no offense to you lanky types ).

So I'm hitting the precinct workout facility every afternoon after I get off work and am eating well. I don't think it's impossible to be up to around 215 by January 1st, and I'm shooting for a toned 220-225 (again) by my 38th birthday second week of March. With some supplementation (meal replacement drinks, bars, etc.) and hard work in the gym here at the PD, I believe that's attainable.

That's about it for me gang. Looks like it's been status quo around here, plenty of lampoonery and deprecation in my absence.

Re: Chainiac checking in

Chain, don't really know eack other yet but glad there is another busa on the board again.

If your looking for real raw strength and power look into the "Westside Barbell" method. It is a powerlifting routine that will put on the muscle. It helps me with my Highland Games, and I am going to start competing in powerlifting once I have the surgery on my elbow.

good luck....

207 what a flyweight it's a wonder things stay on the ground in the wind . Sounds like the time in thought was well spent. I hope you learned from your errors and can accept the things you cannot change. Now if we could just get you on an RR......

Must obey the sheep dog
