eBay Fraud E-mail

I received an e-mail from "eBay" titled "eBay Urgent Notice Fraud ID: 87743-65-x3" which goes on to state "You have received this email because you or someone else had used your identity to make false purchases on eBay."

It provides a link to go to where you verify your identity by entering all of your personal info, banking and credit card #s, etc.

Anyone seen such a thing before? Is this for real???

Re: eBay Fraud E-mail

Most probably a scam. You can always call EBay.

Can you copy and paste the link it directs you to?

Re: eBay Fraud E-mail

Fake... Take a look at where the link actually takes you. It's probably an address that looks similar to an ebay address, but isn't.

Manually go to ebay.com and log in. If there are any issues, you should be told something at that point...

Re: eBay Fraud E-mail

That's what I figured, espcially when you look at the URL for this link, which is the one that it sent me...

http://www.ebay.com/acounts/memb/avn...?dll87443%2213

Conq, I did just that and everything was normal...thanks!
