good deal Its amazing how fast that stuff works eh? I have a funny story about getting a shot of cortisone in my back.

I strained my back on a hiking trip in the 70s. When we got home, I suffered for a few weeks and finally told my dad about it. He took me his office that night. I asked him, "Wont it hurt to get a shot straight into that muscle the way it's strained?" He just shrugged.

So we get to the office and he sets me on an exam table. I watch as he rummages through some drawers. At one point he pulls out this TEMENDOUS glass syringe. I think it had a 10 gauge needle on it. After a few seconds, he put it away and gets this thing with a stopper on it that I can barely see. He puts it into the muscle on my back and gives me two shots through the little stopper, anesthesia and cortisone. My back was perfect in about 30 seconds but I had to lay down from almost fainting over that 100cc glass syringe. Dad, what a prankster!

Man...I'm a shot weenie, even the little ones freak me out...
I might have stabbed him for that one...

This shot had anisthetic for instant relief, and the cortisone kicks in a bit later I guess....worked pretty well...

Aw heck... It beats the alternative. It's funny how one's perception of age changes over the years.
