Halo 2

Well, may as well be the one to start the thread..

Picked up my metal box special ed this morning, and played it for about 2 hours when I got home.

I spent about 20 minutes just setting up my characters appearence alone.

I haven't gotten very far int he game yet thoug what I have seen is pretty got. I have noticed some little lgitches, but generally speaking it's nice and smooth even with lots of killing and blowing **** up going on.

Love the dual wield thing - it seems they have designed the weapons so that you can no longer just run around with the pistol aiming at heads, you kinda need to know what weapon does most damage to what type of enemy and use appropriately.

Had a quick run through of some multiplayer levels, and some of the oldies are back (blood gulch, battle creek - though they are renamed - with some amusing little entires about them "We can't quite figure out what this blood gulch was useful for (or something like that)) Want to get on Xbox live - but am not sure if the live download things makes it incompatible with a non live downloaded xbox (if you have ever tried to play system link with Mech Assault where one person didn't have the live download - you will know what I mean) But I'm so looking forward to playing this game on live...

I'm not hardcore enough to have finished the game (unlike some people I know) but I think this was money well spent.

Anyone else manage to pry themselves from the game have any opinions?

Re: Halo 2

played it last night. its feels like an expansion pack for the firts one. its so boring and simple. Far cry has ruined me when it comes to first person shooters. the depth of that game and psyhics make games like halo 2 pale in comparison to it. its just to simple to have alot of fun

Re: Halo 2

I cannot wait to try it out!! I had serious doubts about the XBox before playing Halo a few seasons back, but after spending three consecutive days playin until the wee hours of the morn while on vacation, I was convinced, that Microsoft and Bungie had come up with something great....If Halo is any indication, Halo 2 will kick some serious donkey!

BTW, GTA: San Andreas will probably move more units though as a result of there being more PS2 units than XBox units in homes throughout the US....

Re: Halo 2

I think XBox LIVE is where this game will come into it's own. Always wanted to play a 16 man elimination in blood gulch with a bunch of people I didn't know. Of course, as usual, after spending weeks mastering every trick, every move, every weapon, I'll still get my ass whipped by some 14 year old savant from Texas...

Re: Halo 2

I will probably end up springing for X-Box Live as well but I'm lovin' the single player version so far.

Re: Halo 2

2.5 hrs blew by. I think the wife came home, maybe not, little self-involved with the game.

Graphic were awesome. Was looking at is on a Sony XBM wide screen. This weekend it will be on the 65 in. Tv as my teen son schools me on the art of HALO!

So far, so great.
