Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

I'd like to see the Northern lights in person someday; preferably on a summer night.

Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

Rumor had it we were going to be able to see them all the way down here one night a bit back. But there was clouds and rain :-( I am sure the display would be weak at best here.

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

Nice photos! Was that a snapshot, or did you force a time exposure?
A coupe of weeks ago the northern lights were so bright that it looked as if the sky was on fire. Lots of reds, which we usually don't get to see here.

Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

those are either photochopped or its a ghost or aliens.

j/k nice pics, we were suppose to be able to see them sometime ago recently but I forgot to look and probably wouldn't have seen them as there's too much light here at night anyway (being so close to boston the sky doesn't get really black all that much)

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Cool pics...I've never seen that before.

Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

Saw them 2 weeks ago on my trip back to Toronto via Detroit and Windsor. Very, very captivating. Almost ran of the road many times b/c I was just totally mesmorized. It wasn't as bright as your shots mind. Still, amazing.

Be fast or be last.

Re: Pictures of Northern Lights

Are the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) usually just green? The few times I've seen the Aurora Australis (Sourthern Hemisphere counter part) they have been the full spectrum of the rainbow. Same mechanisim so I would have thought they'd be pretty much the same.

Never-the-less great shoots and it does look pretty damn cool!!
