Indoor plant growing

Anyone recomend a nice lamp to grow plants inside? I am growing a Key Lime tree, and I really want to give it some light through out winter. It is about 12 inches high right now..about 3 years old.

Team Honda - well sorta...

Purple Sticky Punch Plant......

I can neither confirm nor deny which is the best kind of light to bring into your closet. But maybe a nice drip system would help

Re: Indoor plant growing

Flourescents work really well for slow growth. If you want the thing to turn into a tree quick, look for a HPS (high pressure sodium) or metal hallide lamp.

Re: Indoor plant growing

sometimes it is better to buy through an aquarium outlet than greenhouse...the both sell the same bulbs and lamp systems..just a little more subtle.

think streetlight, or the lamps used in your gym in highschool...big bright lamp, typically hums a bit

Not to be confused with the yard lights you can buy @ HD that are mercury vapor...they're cool, just not AS cool.

look to elights.com for all your lighting info

Another thing to remember is that solar insulation sold @ HD can help with the climate control if you get bright enough lights in a small enough area
