Re: Cobra Replica

Chatted with a guy who has built the FF models and some others. While FF is the promenent manufacture they are not the best. One of the things I like about FF was they offer a week long class where you and your class mates build a model from the rolling chasis up. When I was looking into it there was a discount on the kit if you took the class. The best kit, but most expensive is the one that comes from South Africa. Forget the name of it but you may be able to get it from Speedvision.com. Aluminum body's and all that. Saw the shows where they went on the factory tour, impressive. Definitely tell OSHA hasn't been there YET!

Re: Cobra Replica

The only thing I'd worry about from SA is shipping and recourse if they stiff you on something.

I saw tht episode also. it was Dream Car Garage I believe. their cars did look awesome and from what they said performed very nicely too.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: Cobra Replica

Make sure to visit your local DMV and see what you will need to do regarding registering and inspecting a 'kit car'.

Re: Cobra Replica

I think if I was going to build a kit, I'd rather go the GT40 route than Cobra. The Cobra's are nice, but you see them all the time around here. Oh, and make my GT in the "Gulf" colors!

I like the GT-40. The car just looks awesome.
