Haven't seen it, although I did watch about 3 hours worth of History Channel on Alexander.
I wouldn't pay to see it, but I do like Oliver Stone and Anthony Hopkins. Like someone else mentioned, since when did Alexander (Macedonian-Greek) have long blond hair?
Some interesting points from the History Channel;
King Phillip (Alexander's father) was one of the first to utilize 12-18' spears with counter weights on the end to balance. This gave an incredible advantage as thousands of soldiers struck their enemy before they were even in sword swinging distance.
Alexander was a prick, but also one brave/fearless warrior. Of course he was drunk with power before he was even 26 years old. Had his long time mentor executed for questioning Alexander. Burned down the (newly acquired) beautiful Persian city because he was completely wasted (drunk) from partying non-stop. Massacred the people of that island(?)because they were nervous about his request to worship in their sacred temple. He spent years building that bridge to finally slaughter all of them, except those who sought refuse in the sacred temple.
Finally, it was amazing to see all those countries divided back up after Alexander's death. All those who once fought togethor ended up fighting each other for 'pieces of the pie' in Asia that were promised to them for their loyalty. The more things change, the more they stay the same I guess.
