WeiderŪ Club 500 - Weight Bench and Rack

What do you guys think? I am looking at picking this up just slightly used but almost new from a guy in the local paper for $150. Yes I am posting this as I have just sucked down some hotwings with a side of flank steak and washed it down with arrogant bastard ale.

I dont see how I can go wrong for $150. I need to tone up a bit.

Looks alright, just make sure it is sturdy, it is not fun using benches that move while you lift. Then again it is only 150, if you do not like you could sell it for what you bought it for

Oh, you will need more weight as well, 250 is not enough to do Bench press, Squats and Calfs.

Uhm I am as strong as Bacchus is tall. Someday I hope to squat 250. I could prolly bench less than 140.

If it moves ....well in another thread here I mentioned having a welding torch!

Thanks for the input!

Just always make sure you can squat more than you can bench...you don't want to be one of those bar-bodies walking around in the gyms who bench 315lbs but squat 135lbs.

I agree with Purp. As long as the bench is sturdy, it alone is probably worth that. I'm sure Heavy-Dee will agree with me when I say that Parabody is good stuff if you ever decide to expand your setup.

Snag it and let us know how you like it. It's great that it has a squat rack - Gotta love squats

I came here to chew bubble gum and to kick some ass...and I'm all out of bubble gum.

That's a steal for $150. All you would need is another pair of 45's and you'd have plenty of weight, too.

Re: WeiderŪ Club 500 - Weight Bench and Rack

Just be careful. If your going to do any kind of serious lifting you will need something better. Just remember that when you bench the weight it can hold is your weight plus the weight on the bar. And those squat racks aren't the best either. If you are just starting out in lifting and don't want to become a powerlifter than it should be alright.

If anyone is serious and wants good powerlifting equipment go to Elite Fitness that is where I get most of my stuff. Dave Tate is the guy who owns it and is an Elite lifter from Westside Barbell. Great stuff.

The blood of Highlanders flows through my veins. And sometimes.... their whisky.
