Re: local riders death

I don't mean to sound like I'm flaming you americans, but some of you yanks don't need Saddam Insane or Ossama BinLaden, just give you a motor bike and you will take care of the the job,
Whats the story? is it just you have so much population or is it lack of rider education? do you guys have to go through the small bike stage or can you just jump on to a large bike?
Believe me I'm not trying to flame, just curious

Sorry to hear the news

Re: local riders death

details are few ratter but, i understand her husband was riding along with her on his own bike. whether he was in front or behind, she was trying to keep up, she panicked, she target fixated is all speculation. i don't know, nor was anything said, about her experience level or formal training. maybe he was teaching her on his own? maybe she was just teaching him? sportbike or cruiser is unknown, not that it really matters.

but she was a mother of a three year old.

obituary

p.s. no tier system here but we seriously need one in my opinion. hell i learned on a 86 250 ninja. probably saved me from dying young. younger?

Re: local riders death

Yeah ratter, it's true. A 16 year old who just got his/her license can walk into the dealership and ride away on a
Gixxer 1K. It is ridiculous. And the sad part is, most (probably nearly all) dealers could care less, 'cause they just want the sale

Re: local riders death

I don't know what to say without it sounding like I'm flaming your country, but surely with bikes that are available today, wouldn't it make sense to have a tiered system for newbies getting onto a bike.
I know you guys are allways preaching freedom of speech/rights, ther land of the free etc, but surley survival would be more important?
I know it might be a bit rough at first, as most the young ones think they handle anything and would probably be too embarassed to ride a 250 but at least they may be around long enough to be able to ride a 1000cc sportbike .

Sorry if I sound like I'm flaming you guys.

Re: local riders death

You're not flaming at all Bro - I totally agree with you
Too many kids dying for no reason IMHO. With today's bikes and the HP they make, I think it has reached the point where something like that needs to be put into place.

Re: local riders death

MC laws in the states are simply insane. So all you american insurance premium payers think about it. Less deaths and injuries and accidents = lower premiums.

Re: local riders death

They probably wouldn't lower premiums much just 'cuz they're money-hungry like that. But it would save lives nonetheless
