Re: Apple's "iProduct"...

I have never thought about it but Apple enthusiasts are just like the Microsoft diehards. It does not matter what it is, it has to be better than the previous version or another competitor. It has the MS logo. It will be compatible to everything they make and it will perform better and make my life easier.

Let's face it, there all a bunch of Lemmings.

I've never seen a Microsoft lover other than you need to upgrade software frequently to run new apps.

Cool link Sheep, interesting Via is now in the processor biz.

I hear the point you're trying to make, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Even fans of Microsoft expect bugs in their products, subsequent patches, etc. Microsoft is popular because it's the only game in town (Apple hasn't been significant since the late 80's when you're talking about personal computing for the masses).

Microsoft products are also reasonably priced, unlike Apple's.

Huh...
Windows Pro $495
Office Pro $450

I call that un-reasonable and offensive. MS lovers feel like they are the only game in town. I disagree. I find that they are unwilling to try something else besides the "Redmond group". Since Bill made it, it has to be good. He's a billionaire you know.

If you have a student in the house you can attain both of those software titles for around $100.

Re: Apple's "iProduct"...

MS isn't the only game in town, but it surely is the most convenient.

You can get Home Ed Win XP for like $100.

Re: Apple's "iProduct"...

Mac OS X version 10.3 "Panther"
$129.00

another $30 for a system without as many bugs.

its the hardware that's a lot more money. but you also get a better designed piece of hardware. so you get what you pay for.

as a whole a wouldn't say either system is completely better than the other. they both do stuff better than the other.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Better designed piece of hardware? A guy I work with took a plain ol $50 Nvidia video card and flashed it with the Mac compatible BIOS and it works great in his Mac. Same card on eBay is going for ~$300. Yep, sure is better designed They did a pretty good job of designing it into the mac lover's heads.
