Queensryche, a very underated band. Amazing music and compositions, The sorta thing that falls through the cracks because the radio stations can make a fortune off of it.

I have seen both bands many times!! They were up here about a month ago with Fates Warning, I'd have to say Queensryche stole the show. The sound was great as well as the mix (very tight band). Dream Theater has a lot going on but it's very hard to hear as their mix is not very good. Great show though, the only missing band on the bill that would have been nice to see as well, was Rush.

Look, lean, believe!!

That is the exact concert I saw..... with Fates Warning...

Actually the steal of the show was when Queensryche and Dream Theatre played together.

Me being a music teacher.... Dream Theatre is so complex and I loved it.

Re: Went to the best Concert Ever!

I've seen both bands many times, but not together. Dream Theater is awesome and has incredible complexity. I use them to gauge definition of soundstages. I am a huge Queensryche fan. They are so clean and sound great live. Geoff Tate has such a great voice with excellent range and Scott Rockenfield is an great drummer. Was Chris Degarmo with them or is he still out? I dranka few beers with them about 10 years ago in Florida, I wonder if they remember me?

I'm a has been drummer!! Did you see the size of Mike's new kit??

I've been waiting for that bill to happen for a long time!! Did they do a Who cover?

That was the highlight of the night!! To see two bands of that caliber, one old one new was incredible.

From what I understand he played on the new album but is not touring with them. His replacement was pretty damn good (as he would have to be) though.

Re: Went to the best Concert Ever!

I saw Queensrych on their first ever tour. The opened for Dio in a small venue in CA. I was lucky to be up front. When they came out I was just BLOWN AWAY by Geoff Tate's voice!

On Queen of the Riech I thought maybe they did an over-dub to get that long screem. At least I thought that until he laid out an even longer one, live. Man.. THAT was one great concert.

Dio was pretty good too (espcially the demonic cloud that emitted from behing the stage curtain that everyone saw (really.. it was super-creepy the way the smoke formed into the face of a demon above the band.. everyone I was with commented on it).

At any rate.. yeah. I have every QR CD. I really liked Operation Mindcrime.. well.. I really like them all to be honest. I must have spent days (months) trying to match the riffs on the first record (it was vinyl back then afterall).

Sweet. When they come back to Seattle I'll be making a point of checking them out!!!

Re: Went to the best Concert Ever!

I am a huge Dream Theater Fan. *I feel in love with their music while I was living outside of Boston. *If I remember correctly most the of the members are from Berkely School of Music in Boston? *anyway, I was working at Strawberries 'Movies, Music, and More' while in HS and listening to Mr Bungle!!! * all the time when I heard the first cd from Dream Theater.... Instant fan...

Their music is so intense it almost seems like it should'nt work, but it does..... My only problem is that I can't find their CD's anymore since I moved away from the east coast.
