For the last 3 hours or so...

I've been ripping mp3's of my entire CD collection. I think I'm maybe half way finished. When I'm done, the CD's will get packed away into the closet. I have my receiver connected to the puter so I can play mp3's through my home system. I'm going to rig it so that I can pump music into my weight room in the basement as well. Pretty excited, but I think I found the end of the internet sitting hear all afternoon!

Re: For the last 3 hours or so...

Am I that boring? I understand. Anybody else done this? Do you understand? The CD's get put away! Never to return! If I want one in the car I just burn it. If it gets scratched, who cares?!?!?!

Negative! This is very tedious, but I think the outcome is going to rule. I'm up to 4 gb of mp3's and I'm about 1/2 done.

I did all of mine and albums The albums take a while and some were quite old so I had to hand type names etc.

~4000 songs in my iTunes collection. I've got an Airport Express connected to the stereo in the garage, so I can stream music wireless over my network
So yes I've done it and it's well worth the effort. Only time I have CDs in my car is when I first buy them...then into the home changer.

Re: For the last 3 hours or so...

Do you have to have a tuner/RCA card for the PC to interface with the receiver? Or how is it done? I've wanted to connect the two for a while now myself...

Re: For the last 3 hours or so...

Kool
Ive Ripped my entire Collection also @ 192 kbps.
Just hope you set up the track order correctly .
When I first started I had to redo the first 20 or so cds
Cause if the track Number wasnt set to be first. The songs played back
in alphabetical order Instead of Album order .
I have mine set up as
ALBUM,TRACK NUMBER,ARTIST,TRACK NAME
I dont know why this isnt the default .

Peace
Ed

I have RCA cable run from my puter, throught the floor, in the ceiling of the basement up through the floor and into the receiver.
