Home exercise Help

Whats up guys... as you know major changes have happend in my life and in an attempt to get things back on track I have begun a home exercise routine. I would love to hit a gym but I am still having the problem with my shoulder limiting any kind of weight routine.

So far I have been doing crunches all different ways, leg lifts, pushups (when my arm permits) and recently included jumping jacks/ just running around keeping my heart rate up (dancing, just jumping around, playing with the dog etc)

This combined with a healthier diet have netted about a 6lb loss in about the last week or so. Any suggestions on what else I can throw in to help out any?

Any suggestions welcome

Re: Home exercise Help

I use the bicycle on the trainer during the winter months, three or four times a week, very aggressively for about an hour or so each workout. I have about a half dozen videotapes of spinning class-type sessions that keep it somewhat interesting.

Thats cool too.

I improvised and just started jumping jacks to keep up my heart rate. Then the dog saw it as an opportunity to attack my legs so I started to mess around and man it felt good.

Re: Home exercise Help

Check your local Costco for a Nautilus home gym. We had one and recently sold out of them but it was around $800. It came with around 250lbs in plates, bench w/incline, nice squat rack, the butterfly arms, etc. Please excuse me I'm not the best with the gym terminology. Anyhow, I checked it out and it is definitely a quality piece, I could see it being double the price. I checked the costco.com for ya and I don't think it's listed. Just check your local warehouse and don't worry about membership, you can always go in and get a day pass.

Re: Home exercise Help

Hi,
I guess getting in shape is different for everyone...My wife goes ti Lifetime fitness at least 3 times a week she is 24 and in very good shape...Me I tried but I can not stick to that kind of environment the only thing I believe in is sport. Any sport will free your mind and before you realize you will reach your goal, of course if the plan is to loose weight focus on being more aggressive doing it (110%). For me sports are the only way to go; I am 33, and I consider myself in good shape and I am ONLY involve in sports...and not even in a team.

To watch what you eat in addition to an active life is the key of success!

Good luck

Thats how I did it most of my life... ALways played baseball & hockey

Baseball season wasnt over yet and I was already on the ice.... and once the hockey season was over I played spring league which overlapped the beginning of the baseball season.

Once summer comes I plan on doing more mountian biking which is something I always really enjoyed but for now just trying to get a head start.

Tell ya what since I started exercising again I seem to have much more energy then I did even a few weeks ago

That was me Saturday when we went out even after a day full or running around doing stuff. Guess it helped that there was plenty of chicks to help keep me awake

Re: Home exercise Help

TGZ, you really should give yoga a try.

It's great for everything. Cardio, weight loss, strength, flexibility........

I admit I've kinda slacked on it for the last couple of months, but the benefits are GREAT!!!!

What I really want to do is cardio kick boxing... I watched it in the gym I used to belong to and that **** is cool.

I just have very few times where the strength in my arm is enough to actually do a good arm type workout.. I am going back to the doctor in the next 2 weeks so hopefully he can do something or at least find what the hell it is.

Hey you don't have dinners to pay for anymore, dates to pay for etc. I guarantee you can afford a beautiful escort once a month

You could always get yourself a copy of "sweating to the oldies" with Richard Simmons

Dude, go anyway. I guarantee you'll find some single lady wanting to party Besides, you could drink yourself into happiness there, and I hear you can get some things legal like there that you can't here

If it was a cruise or something where there were singles I would in a heartbeat. One of my best vacations was a cruise I took with my family. Something about being on a boat, seeing the same people day after day and LOTS of alcohol that just make meeting chick easy
