He passed away about an hour ago.

Proof that even riding without traffic, 35 mph can be VERY dangerous. I just hope this makes everyone else around here realize and suit up. There are only about 20% of us who use gear around here.

Re: Local Rider Accident

There's just way too much of the bad stuff lately.

Sounds like these two were riding together and somehow hit each other. Maybe trying to talk to each other and bumped?

Wear your gear.

Only 20% do you really think the number is that low? OK folks lets see those IQ scores.

Another great site to visit.

Re: Local Rider Accident

look at the picture from our group ride, and then take another look at the 20% around the topeka/lawrence/manhattan/ kansas city area.

Yeah. I guess crashing is part of riding, but it still sucks to hear about.

Re: Local Rider Accident

I am fully convinced that the gear I was wearing saved my life 12 days ago... Even on short non taxing rides I have phoenix, gloves, pants and boots. Helmet of course, the law out here.

Re: Local Rider Accident

I saw this same item on another forum elsewhere. *They said wheelies were involved, but there was no evidence to prove that claim.

Very sad, indeed.

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Re: Local Rider Accident

I personally know what happened, but few actually do. It shouldn't matter what was going on, if you know your riding partner, and someone somewhere will hopefully pick up a helmet, weat his/her leathers once again or for the first time. If this happens, then one less for later
