Back on the bike - feels good!

Yeah, I've been lazy for too long, but am getting excited about exercising and getting back on the mountain and street bikes again. Here are a couple pics from today's ride - it was therapeutic! These mountains really are awesomely beautiful. Frank is my closest riding mate. And yes, I forgot to suck in the gut in the one pic, but I'll lose that soon enough. The uphill shot only shows half of the climb, and it's much steeper than the picture shows. OK, enough babbling for now...

Photo-choppers, start your engines!

Re: Back on the bike - feels good!

I'm envious - still a little too muddy in the hills around here, so most of the time the bike's on the trainer for me still. I'll probably take it out on the road tomorrow and climb a few area hills, which will be nice (supposed to be in the upper 50's again here tomorrow).

Geez, Bacc - in that picture it looks like you found a riding buddy that is your size or (gasp!) smaller!

Glad you had fun out there!

P.S. Watch out for those cacti and those creepy critters you like to scare Chain with!

Re: Back on the bike - feels good!

I'll definitely be out there tomorrow. I'm hoping to take the Duc out tomorrow too, although when I went to take a quick ride this afternoon, the battery was dead! I've got it on the charger overnight, so unless it's time for a new battery, I'll be out on the road on both bikes tomorrow.

By the way, I sure like that new bike of yours, Bacc -

Wow, that is beautiful country. No wonder you're smiling! It must feel good to stretch your legs!

Re: Back on the bike - feels good!

Yep Red Rider, the mountains and foothills here are very beautiful. Come on out and ride with me! And whip, that last chop with the lizard... is that a reference to Jim Morrison (Lizard King), or am I totally missing the point?!

Re: Back on the bike - feels good!

That riding area looks pretty fun. The numerous Cacti look a little sharp but nonetheless it looks like a great riding area.

We did a 20 miler on road on duty last shift escorting a benefit run/walk/ride for the county and it was nice to stretch out on the return trip although it was drizzling the entire ride back. Still was a great day at work getting paid to ride our bikes.

Pouring out right now so I guess my woods ride is out for today.

Re: Back on the bike - feels good!

I clicked on this thread thinking you'd dragged your 954 out of kitchenette hibernation, Bacchus! You don't mean to tell me I broke cover and rode before you this year??? You do, after all, live in AZ!

(Yeah, I burbled around town for a couple hours while running errands on Friday, about 50 degrees outside.)

Bacchus = weather wimp
