Re: day after St. Patty's Day

Feel great. Had a few beers last night and made it to work so it's all good. Wish I was still back east for St. Patty's day, Boston(Southy) is a blast on St. Patty's day.

Re: day after St. Patty's Day

I must be getting old, I'll never understand St Patrick's day. If you're not Irish or if you are, or you have to wear green just to support St Patty's day, go out and get drunk off your ass with green beer and green party hats.

I saw a crowd of people on the news, in a bar yesterday morning (6:45am) starting to get smashed already. All because it's St Patrick's Day?

It's kinda ironic that Christmas (believe it or not) was originally the same type of party/celebration. The poor working class flooded the streets while getting smashed off their asses the entire day (morning-noon-night). It was originally a holiday created by the working class to take a day off and celebrate their good fortunes. Religion converted that day into what we now know as Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ. December 25th was never the actual date of the birth of Christ.
Just a little well known fact there Normy!

I get smashed on Christmas too, and Halloween, and Easter...well come to think of it pretty much whenever. I don't need a holiday to drink.

Re: day after St. Patty's Day

Went to a bar after work yesterday for a few Guinness with friends from work. Came home and cooked corned beef & cabbage (and carrots, turnips and spuds and peas pudding). Had a couple of more beer with friends.

That was it, played on the puter till time for bed late 'cause:

"I got today off m'fers!!!!!!!!! "

Yes folks, that's right. When you work at the plant I work at, you get the Friday or Monday closest to Paddy's Day off, and today is it!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day fookers, 'cause I'm going to!!!!!!!!!

2 beers and 45 mile drive home. Police were out with the sobriety checkpoints. Saw one guy taken away in cuffs. Good to see them out there taking people off the streets.

Re: day after St. Patty's Day

ok I'll preface this by saying I hardly ever drink and the last time I had more than a small cup of beer was maybe 4 or 5 years ago. But I actually had 2 bud lights last night. I gotta say I think I'm getting my taste for beer back and I like that. I only had a little buzz but better to not get totally hammered when getting back into the swing of drinking.

we didn't go to southie, I think we were in Allston (name of the bar is The Kells)

Here is the sum up of the night we came up with on the way home from the bar:
*started with it being a friends birthday
*had a few drinks in the bar
*friend found a cell phone on the sidewalk and left an obscene message to the owner
*helped some totally hammered passed out guy on the sidewalk
*saw a syringe about 20 feet up the street from said passed out guy
*another friend found $6

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: day after St. Patty's Day

Spent St Patty's Day at the Nine Fine Irishmen pub in New York New York at Vegas. They had U2 playing. It was packed and there was a lot of eye candy! The alarm went off way to early this morning. I slept on the plane ride back and feel much better now.

I have to agree and I am only 1/2 irish.

And how true it is you can't drink all day unless you start in the morning, so guess what, I feel great thanks to a bit (or maybe a bit more) of the hair of the dog lol.
