Re: Tired of high gas prices...

Yeah, it sucks, but as mere bottom feeder consumers, we're behind the eight ball and will pay whatever the damned pumps say on their aggravating little LED touch-screens.

This riding season, I plan on riding my bike to work every day as soon as it's consistently not 25 or 30 degrees when I get up in the morning.

Yeah...but factor in the volume compensation ripoffs in AZ, and you might be surprised what your "real" cost is...

Ain't that the truth...we are not as bad as you guys in austrailia...yet

If the price of gas makes you want to ride the bike more, I wonder how much gas money you would have to save to pay for the extra "Z" rated tires? They have you either way...

You can get that on the mainland too. Gas near Big Sur and south along highway 1 is more like $3.69+ whenever the rest of the state is over $2.50.

Re: Tired of high gas prices...

You can pretty well count on it climbing. Right now in my small area a gallon is $3.68 (in truth it is 91.9 cents a Liter while some places are higher) & I can recall when fuel was 24 cents a GALLON while quart of oil was 30 cents. Mind you that goes back to right after WWII still I was riding then.

Prices have climbed since then & every once in a while they go down a few pennies, but regain to go over the higher figure & you can count on fuel climbing come July & August for they always count on more income duriing Summer which is also tourist time.

I think I know now what would make me ride in the rain instead of taking my V8 car.
