Im a fashion retard and need help with shoes

I need some new dress shoes and a new belt for my suit. Suit is a dark navy solid color, 2 button, single breast pocket. For those of you that get (must) wear a business suit, what do I wear with this? I assume black, but what style? I prefer a slipon of some type but there are so many choices. Tassles, no tassles, pennies, no pennies... etc. Please help me out and post what you think. I know Im a 'tard and Im not afraid to admit it and ask for help.
Thanks,
Chris

Black Florsheim wingtips with waxed laces - a timeless classic.

NO tassles, NO pennies.

My grandpa has that same pair.... Something similar to that is what I am looking at if I go laceup.
Thanks,
Chris

Your grandaddy wore 'em because he had a sense of style.

Cops can afford those??

Nice choice Chain, I have a similar pair to for those "Dess-up" functions. Just not that brand.

I agree with Chain. Classic shoes. Get a belt in the same color, if you don't already have a black one. No brown belts with black shoes, or vice-versa.

Yeah, I gotta get a new belt too as the gym is really paying off. Ive already taken 3 notches out of my duty belt in 2 months.... The black belt I have has been used once.

White shirt with a red tie. Get a plain black leather belt and some Rockport shoes (#M4378 I think they are called wing tips) I have the shoes on today for a Dog and Pony show, very comfy and better grip than leather soles.

Re: Im a fashion retard and need help with shoes

don't do the "old man" setup like chain suggests!

Get a slip on, thats metro-man'ish. Is there an aldo in a mall near you? Something wide, something comfortable, something with no laces...

Whats the purpose? How is the style of the suit? If its dark navy, I suppose you could do brown or black. I'd do black myself... Then if you got a black suit, the same shoes would go with it.

Might sound dumb, but a lot of people notice and judge your personality by the shoes that you wear. Especially women...

Re: Im a fashion retard and need help with shoes

Slip-ons and suit are a no-no. Go with black lace-ups. I prefer wingtips myself. Or, you can go with a nice black lace-up with cap-toe. That's a nice look while not being overly flashy.

I found these looking online..... WTF would one be thinking to a) wear these (they were in the men's catagory) and b) pay $330 for them?

BTW: go with Chain's suggestion. Great looking formal shoe.

Shame on you going to a site with "Couture" in the name.

Also all kidding aside what is the purpose of the suit? My white shirt and red tie joke was based on my sentence with EDS where clothing and power suits were a science. However if you are going to use it in court while testifying color selection on shirt and tie is a something you might want to consider. A good source for the effects of different colors on jurors would be a lawyer.
