Had a GREAT day today, and I almost died.

So today was just another boring, slow ass day of work. At about 2pm, my cell phone rang and it was a manager of the chicago region of Opex Inc.

On Friday, I emailed my resume to the company offices on their website for job listings for tech support. He said that he needs some men to help down there. I was in awe! I couldnt beleive they responded so fast. He wants me to give him another resume to look over and wants to set up an interview in chicago for the job.

This is what I have been waiting for!!

You start at $35k a year which is damn good for me, its about a $12k a year raise. 2 weeks paid vacation, insurance etc. I hope i Get it!

now to the part where I almost died. The MLOCR taht I work on at work went down so i had to fix it. The power supplies went bad (or so i thought) and I had to test voltages to the supplies. I was testing the 120 volt line in a small, cramped area and and must have dragged the volt meter prongs along 2 of the power inputs and there was a HUGE spark and smoke. Scared the hell out of me, so I test it again and i'll be damned, it did it again. melted the leads on the volt meter and burned the hair on my hand. I almost died. Darwin almost had his way with me.

Re: Had a GREAT day today, and I almost died.

I get hit periodically with 120,240,480AC and up to 180 DC at work sometimes trying to work in some of the machines in their very cramped electrical cabinets. It sucks. DC is the worst to get hit with..

Good luck with the interview.

There is definetely truth in the saying that "AC throws you but DC tows you" , and I think it always hurts for longer too, at least IME. Can't imagine 180vdc.

Stegen I don't know whether to take you seriously or not but either way, good luck with your quest . So you are open to moving to Chi town?

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.
