Glock abuse test

I wanted to pop in to link an interesting thread over on AR15.com:

Glock abuse test

I hope this isn't a repeat - it's a great read and be sure to watch some of the video clips.

Re: Glock abuse test

I'd like to see it done with a milspec 1911. I don't have time to read the whole thing (to see if they did it) but I have a feeling it would do pretty well. I do think the parkerizing would do worse than the Tenifer treatment, but I bet the 1911 would go bang pretty much every time too.

Most people that have problems with 1911's bought low budget, accurized "tight" ones.

LTL, the thread is pretty much a place where a G21 owner can record what he's been doing to abuse his pistol. He buries it in sand, baby-powder and all sorts of grime and the gun still shoots. He even shoots the slide with a .22 pistol. It's worth reading/viewing.

Re: Glock abuse test

Yeah, I read like the first 2 pages or so. It is pretty interesting.

I will say, if he really wanted to corrode it, he should've tried warming the salt water, not putting it out in the cold.

If I was really into my pistolcraft, I would do it to a 1911. (and I'm sure in the trenches of WWI/II and Vietnam some pretty awesome torture testing was done to it) But since guns are well back in the cash line compared to some of my other hobbies, I'll have to stick to picking up one every once in a while and treating it like I want it to last forever. Not like the US Army owns it.

Re: Glock abuse test

Oh man! I don't know if this means that I'm ugly or pretty but either way it's nice to be loved by Pete. Glad to be back but I should make my stay short-lived sinced this place turns into an addiction if you stick around too long.

Back on topic, if you haven't read the thread then just watch this video. I crack up every time I hear the camera man say what he does.
