Defected

Hi, I met some of you at Grattan in er 2002 and was an early member here...

I still browse here but I thought I might say "hallo" and tell you that I defected......

Because I bought a gsxr1000K5 5 weeks ago.

It was awesome. And then I put a Yoshi full system, power commander, Ohlins suspension, front fork job.

And now it's magnificent. I have never, ever felt so "at one" so quickly on any bike, ever.

Things move on. I LOVED my 929 but and did 37000 miles on it, but....

Oh, and if any of you remember me, I got my first trophy for racing last year, and this year I learnt to scuba dive.

I'll still keep looking in from time to time. Ride safe.

Jan x

Re: Defected

Hi Jan! Good to hear from you. Congrats on the new bike! Like G-Force, I'm one of the few here that still has my trusty 929!

Re: Defected

Dr.! Welcome back! I watched you fly around Grattan on Nick's bike...can't imagine how fast you are on a new GSXR1K!

I know this is Fireblade forum, but the new K5 is astonishing. I'm sorry but it kicks my 929 into the weeds... it's a racebike with lights, as they say. Amazing piece of kit. The slipper clutch is a brilliant idea, and the whole package is tiny, and I am too, so it's ideal. Ok the finish might not be perfect but all the four Jap manufacturers are much more even in build quality than they used to be, I reckon.

You can all flame me now but things do move on... it was a big wrench taking the 929 off the road though

Re: Defected

The 929 is a 5+ year old design; the new GSXR1000 should definately kick it in the weeds.

And how old of a design is the CBR1000RR, which also gets "kicked in the weeds" by the GSXR1000.
