Re: Cooter says "No!" to upcoming Dukes Movie
Went and saw it last night, and although that article is from CNN is it somewhat on target.
The movie was everything I expected it to be. It was a movie with a foundation on car chases, crazy stunt driving and jumping with some hottie action - exactly like the original series. Was it cheesy? Absolutely. Did it have a plot? Yes, but it was rather thin, and centered around the above mentioned.
In other words, it was an excellent interpretation of the origianl series. Just as I mentioned in another thread about this movie a while back, I went to see this movie to be entertained, and entertained I was.
Anyone that goes to see a movie based on "The Dukes of Hazzard" expecting award winning performances and plot is just plain moronic. Movie critics in general are idoits, and 8 out of 10 times a movie they like I hate and movies they hate I like.
For those whining about the "Daisy Issue", Catherine Bach can't hold a candle to Jessica Simpson. There was plenty of jumping, crahsed police cars and just plain crazy and unrealistic driving, just like the T.V. show.
During the credits there were "blooper scenes" - showing what really happened to these cars, Johnny Jackass being, uh, Johnny Jackass, etc.
I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to see an entertaining movie based off the original series and keeping the tradition of the original series intact.
Hell, the show incorporated plots straight from a few of the the T.V. episodes into the main movie plot.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to add that there's a GSXR (back when jackasses used to call them Shrads - man that was annoying), and the way they poke fun at NASCRAP drivers is great. I could totally see old Jeffy boy Gordon as that role.
