Anyone know of one?- I need a new home.

Also, what are the best online vendors of cool bolt-on accessories?

About the only thing I haul are the groceries, what the heck would I do with one of those?

J/K, I actually use my truck as a truck, but the gas Hemi is the one for me.

Re: Dodge Ram Forum?

No, not into farming, but I do alot of home improvement and landscaping around the house, occasionally haul loads of crap to the dump, like avoiding paying delivery fees for furniture and whatnot, and enjoy the security of a big, V8 powered 4WD in the Midwest winter. What can I say, I'm a truck guy. Have been since I started driving...

Edit: Wow Conq, the board revisions are great! I can't believe how fast the editing is. Seems like the board loads in no time!

Why would you buy a Cummins if you weren't pulling a 5th wheel?

Cause the only compelling reason to buy a Dodge IS the Cummins....if it weren't for that engine, the Ram wouldn't even still be sold today...

Re: Dodge Ram Forum?

Dodge trucks are about 10 years behind GM trucks. WHen GM introduces a technology or manufacturing method (ie hydroformed frame rails) Dodge introduces it 10+ years later.

ALso, their automatic transmissions are notorious for piling up.

I can't recommend a dodge truck, unless it's a cummins, of which we have 6. Those motors are all that that truck has going for it... typically the rest of the truck ends up as scrap while the cummins is still running like a clock.

If you like it and it makes you happy, what the hell. I wouldn't buy one though. If it were me buying a new truck, I would either wait for a 2006 Tundra, or wait a little longer (probably spring '06) for a 2007 Chevy.

Edit: or option 3: wait until the '07 GM's are introduced and pick up an '06 for peanuts...

And then there's this asshole...

Speculation.

As to the issue of gas v. diesel, I see no reason to spend $5,555.00 on the Cummins option when the 345 hp/375 lb-ft Hemi is available for nine hundred bucks over base.

Diesels are cool, but they're expensive as hell, noisy, fuel costs alot, and I don't pull anything - so for me the gas engine is the right choice. Matter of fact, even the Hemi is arguably overkill for a Chaintruck, but I'm leasing this time around and the residual is much more attractive on a Hemi Ram than the non-Hemi models.
