Blurred eyesight before headache?

Anyone ever have this? My wife does from time to time, and I know of a friend that has this happen as well. How common is it? Have any of you gone through this?

Re: Blurred eyesight before headache?

She should see a dr about it to make sure nothing else is wrong. I get migraines and had to go through a whole series of tests to make sure there wasn't an underlying cause.

It is common for those who get migraines to have blurred vision with them.

Be careful... I lost some one close to me this way.

.. I have some pretty bad migraines myself. ended up in the hospital a few time for the strong one...... after many years of searching what the cause was I finally found that they are food related.... I'm basically allergic to soy, and a some other stuff, but soy is the worst one, and looks like they put some in everything those days...

A good way to find what the cause is is to have a calendar and keep track of EVERYTHING on it, and after 2 or 3 months of gathering info, you try to find cause.

As far as medication I use Zomig. Expensive crap, but so worth it.....

It appears he does for Imitex.

Jet, my wife has tried Zomig but it gives her upset stomache side affects. Do you get that at all?
They are both quite expensive drugs, but knock a migraine out.

No side affects for me with Zomig. I've tried different medication, never had any side affect, but some did not help with the migraine at all.

Mine actually turned out to be muscle-related, so I just pop a muscle relaxer now when they come on.

Re: Blurred eyesight before headache?

Blurred vision, seeing spots and halos around objects are quite normal for people who suffer migrains. I see spots and halos (but don't get blurred vision) usually about an hour before it strikes.

I also use Zomig.

If you never try anything new, you'll miss out on many of life's great disappointments.

Re: Blurred eyesight before headache?

Also check blood pressure during these times. Surges in BP can cause a headache also (sometimes this is food related as pointed out by Sunbert)
