Medical Advice Please!

I have a question about my health, so I'm asking on what is obviously the most logical place to find an answer... a motorcycle forum.

Thing is, I never EVER go to the doctor (unless I get a ride to his office in the back of a big van with flashing lights) and I know there are at least a couple of MD's on here so what the hell.

Every year right when winter starts to set in, (right about now) I get the exact same illness. This has happened like clockwork 6 years in a row: my throat swells, swallowing becomes difficult and painful, my sinuses ache, and I drool like a lobotomy recipient. It is not pleasant. Lasts around 10 days then goes away, only to come back next year. Other than this, I NEVER get sick. I think I actually did go to a clinic a few years back, and the doc just told me to buy some losenges.

Do I need my damn tonsils pulled or something?

And then there's this asshole...

Re: Medical Advice Please!

Sounds alot like epiglottitis,it should be suspected when swallowing is extremely painful (causing drooling), when speech is muffled, and when breathing becomes difficult. A strep test may miss this infection. This can be a life treatening condition if the larnyx completely closes. Go to the doctor next time.

It's always bothered me, I've just always been too dumb to do anything about it. Actually that isn't true... I drove myself to emergency one night because I was having trouble breathing... I waited 2 hours to see someone and they just sent me home , told me to drink lotsa water.

And then there's this asshole...

Re: Medical Advice Please!

does it affect your motor skills or ability to see, or just the inflamed ENT organs?

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

Re: Medical Advice Please!

Sounds like the bird flu. You're gonna die very soon.
What's Jessica's number?

I'm surpirsed that the wonderful socialist health care didn't cure you like magic within minutes, for absolutely free.

Ooooooooh........look at that. #5,000.

Re: Medical Advice Please!

Our magical health care system mostly consists of "New Canadians" clogging waiting rooms because they have a runny nose. Oh and you can't get a family doctor because none of them are accepting new patients. That's in my limited and ignorant view anyhow.

It's free!?!? Guess I better use it at every opportunity! After all, I'm paying for it!

Kinda like the losers that line up at the kiosks at COstco for a bacon-wrapped scallop on a toothpick. Except instead of mammal-wrapped mollusc it's Pennicillin.

Bird flu? Ok, that'll do but I was half expecting something about that one night, back in college... or maybe Bangkok.

And then there's this asshole...

And the taxes they pay goto the government which in turn goto their shitty health care.....

So, just like we pay for all the welfare recipients here, they pay for their own medical in the end anyway.

Wait, did I just defend something phobe said? Damn it, I'm going to shoot myself now.......

Re: Medical Advice Please!

Kind of sound like an allergy. Yes allergys do flare up in the fall of the year, mostly grasses and such. The symptoms are much the same for severe allergic reactions including swelling of the throat. I have a script for allegra 180 and take it as needed and works wonders with little to no side effects.

It's amazing how stupid some people can be.
