60g iPod Photo

So far, 1897 songs, 5.6 days of listening pleasure, 7.9gigs of songs on the thing.......

I love this thing. I have downloaded several songs as well Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Yes, this is showing my age. I like old school Michael Jackson.

iTunes is da bomb. Transferring songs from my Cd's were never easier. I think I might have to purchase an iMac to make it my sole music/video downloading machine. My daughters iMac is to old to do it. The processor is just to slow and does not have a DVD burner. I want to transfer video to the iPod as well.

Crap, I was going to build a new gaming machine but it might have to wait. I am really getting into listening to CD's that I have had for many years but it was to much of a pain to drag them around in the car to listen to them.

This is a great invention. I am sorry that it took so long to get one. But I am glad I did wait for the video capability.

BTW: Sorry if this does not make sense. I had one to many tequila Margaretas this evening. Cheers

If that's all you're gonna use it for, just buy a Mini. $600 for the one with the Superdrive and 80gig hard disk.

Who said that was all I was going to use it for? It is still early in the game. Give me time. I am quite sure I will fill this thing up.

Re: 60g iPod Photo

Well,
I just bought a new iMac. I can't believe I did it. Being a die hard Linux person, I would never imagine that I would get one. I bought it from Apple. It was a referb model. It has a G5 2.0Ghz processor, 512Meg RAM, 160G HDD, 128M graphics card, 17" flat panel job. It is supposed to have wired and wireless capability. I do not have a wireless network, only wired. I got the thing to make movies and to be the go between for the iPod.

BTW, this iPod still rocks...

Dude, go wireless in the house. For less than $100 it is so convenient. You'll never go back.

So I take it the title of this thread is inaccurate?
Did you get the (older) "Photo" version or the (new) "Video" version?

I have a 30(?) GB iPod Photo.
I happen to take literally thousands of digital photos each week.
I have NEVER loaded even ONE photo to my iPod.

Go figure.

I am very weary of wireless. If it is not type 1 encrypted, I have issues.

Not my field but a friend who's field it is, tells me as long as you set up the encryption included with a Lynksis router and turn off the broadcast of your network's name, you're good to go.

2 days with Airsnort and it's cracked If you want to keep it secure/safe, keep it inside a wire.

But if you have type 1 wireless encryption, then it would be ok. But NSA does not hand out these devices to common folk.

That is why when my house was built, I ran mulitple cat5e cables in every room.
