New Jeep

Another intriguing car from Chrysler....
The Jeep Compass, it is going to be based off the new Dodge Caliber/Mitsubishi Lancer platform, and with their new turbo four cylinder and AWD will take the WRX wagon head on. Supposed to show early next year and release fallish as an '07.
I'll be watching the specs on this one, it may be a neat little all weather rocket.
There are quite a few little cars like this about to hit big here, but an STi/Evo fighter (will be a cousin to the Evo) with Jeep badging could be a big seller.

Re: New Jeep

I like it... Drop the SRT-4 engine in there and you may have soemthing? I don't even mind the looks of it

I'd still likely buy the WRX though

Re: New Jeep

Neat little car, but I'm a bit disappointed that they're using the Jeep brand on little cars.

And then there's this asshole...

No kidding. With the power it should be putting down in Evo (whatever they call it) trim it will be more manly than many Jeep vehicles.
I think it's a perfect segment for Jeep to go after. If they're gonna offer a soft-roading cute-ute, they should offer a rally level beast as well.
Price it in the mid to upper twenties, and watch them sell every one.

Re: New Jeep

Are they going to do the Rescue or was that just a Cummins Diesel lovers dream vehicle?

I came here to chew bubble gum and to kick some ass...and I'm all out of bubble gum.

That thing was AWESOME.

I liked the Gladiator even more, though it didn't have the Cummins.

I saw it at the Chrysler Carlisle show this summer in person. Very nice.
