Goblet of Fire

Firefly, little Firefly and I just got back from the Premier of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Our first time going to a movie premier. We also got to go to the pre-movie party at the Opera House in Boston. Free food, magic tricks, etc etc.

It's pretty good and starting to get away from being a "kids" movie as this one is even darker than the last.

The scene with the Dragon is by far the coolest. As a whole, it is quite a bit different from the book, though. They left a bunch out (normal) but also changed a bunch of scenes too.

Overall...

AND....NHF and LFF made it on the local news after the fact! We were interviewed on our way out of the theater and made it home in time to see the two of them on TV! Bonus!

Re: Goblet of Fire

The Harry Potter movies, in my opinion, all had great special effects.

Re: Goblet of Fire

We went to see it tonight too. got 2.5 hours into beign there and my son was having stomach issues so we had to leave without seeing how it ended. I was kinda mad cause now we are home and he is fine.. Gonna be a fukkin year before I get to see the ending when it comes out on dvd.. Damn it.. But it's definitely worth going to see in the theatre

Why not go back to the theater and see it again?

I might but usually don't spend the cash more than once to see a flick in the theatre.

Maybe once the hype has worn off and it's not packed for every showing.

Re: Goblet of Fire

Just got back from a late showing and in IMAX no less. This movie is darker than the rest but I think the directing and/or the editing room work was not done that well. The movie didn't have a good flow to it. It seemed disjointed and maybe assumed the audience had read the books so didn't feel the need to fill us in on some of the subtleties going on between the characters. Visually it was very good. But I had problems with the story presented. And if, as was stated earlier, they actually changed some of the story then I can understand why things went as they did. I was hoping this would be the one shinning point of light in the world of cinema this year but it just wasn't that bright. I think the last Star Wars movie may have been better. And that was a disappointment as well. For me Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire gets 2.5 out of 4 .

Re: Goblet of Fire

I saw the Goblet of Fire this past weekend myself and I must say that it was pretty good. I thought the Dragon scene was by far, the best part of the movie as it was visually pleasing. I haven't seen the Prisoner of Askahban(sp?), so I am gonna check it out, but this chapter had a very good story line and was considerably darker than the others.....what is the title of the next book in the series?

Re: Goblet of Fire

We saw it yesterday on the extra large screen. It was good and fun, really good effects. I did not read the whole book. The movie did seem a little choppy on the editing. I expect an extended edition will fill in some important gaps. It was quite dark and is moving away from children's fare.

I liked it.

Re: Goblet of Fire

I'd have an opinion, except I fell asleep during the movie. I don't know, after the 1st two, I've lost interest in the HP movies.

Um, I'd probably hehem *download* hehem a telesync version and just finish the ending. Grey market pirating at that point.

Re: Goblet of Fire

stegen: agree with you mang. You and I both slept. Good thing - sleep, extremely underrated.

I am watching movie #3, and even that seemed better.
