New iMac

Well, it arrived today. First impressions are that it is a little different. Looks wise, this thing is a beauty. It does not take up much desktop space. Performance wise, it seems very quick.

It found my home network connection and my DHCP server with ease. I did not have to setup a thing. The LCD monitor looks very good. I have no idea how to configure anything else. I will spend the holiday trying to figure it out.

So far it looks promising. More review to come.

BTW: the is an 05 model of a iMAC
2Ghz power PC
512M RAM
160 HDD
128 ATI video card
17" screen

Not so fast. This is just an experiment. As I said before, I am a dye hard Linux fan. This little mac is on a tried and true Linux network.

I will give this toy it due so far. Of course it helps that this thing is underlined with FreeBSD.

This is coming from a Microsoft Lemming....

And damn, you should have told me that I would have gotten a iMac with a RC51. Sounds like a winner to me. I could use another bike in the stable.

Edit: why yes Conq, it is a very pretty computer. It looks great on the desk.

Re: New iMac

Help!!

I cannot get my songs on the ipod into the library of the iMac. I set up the ipod on my wifes windows box. I want to use the ipod only on the imac. I connect the ipod up and itunes sees the songs loaded on the ipod. I am unable to play any songs on the ipod from the imac. What am I doing wrong? All of the songs on the ipod are grayed out but visible in itunes.

You cannot this is a copy protection violation However you have the two machines on a network just copy the whole library across the network I believe the whole thing is compatible. Then go to preferences go to advanced and point the iTunes Music Folder to where ever it was put.
