FBI-Paris Hilton worm virus

Got this from our IT guy this morning:

Quote:
By now you're probably aware of the 'FBI-Paris Hilton' worm due to all the media coverage. Below is a link that gives it some description. As of this morning I have captured 96 occurrences of the virus at the Exchange Server in the last 3 days.

Even though we're exterminating the virus before it reaches your mailbox, be alert and aware.

'FBI-Paris Hilton' worm called the year's worst
It looks like an e-mail from the FBI, or a note promising pictures of Paris Hilton -- but some anti-virus companies are now calling it the biggest computer virus outbreak of the year.

Re: FBI-Paris Hilton worm virus

If I get an e-mail from the FBI I would immediately delete it anyway. If they want me they can come get me.

Re: FBI-Paris Hilton worm virus

If they FBI wanted you, I doubt they would send you an e-mail...

Quote:
Dear Mr. Soft

Would you kindly surrender yourself to authorities when you get off work today? Department has cut down on our field employees so if you could just head over to your local army surplus store and pick up some handcuffs, then drive over to our office and put the handcuffs on, that would be wonderful. We will reimburse you for the handcuffs and the mileage. See you soon.

Sincerely,

Agent Mulder

Re: FBI-Paris Hilton worm virus

Did anybody actually read that article. It says you have to open the email, download the winzip file, unzip it, and run the application thats a whole lot of work to infect your own computer. I wouldnt admit if I had that virus since there are so many points that you can realize something is wrong.
